Often in manufacturing, engineers are tasked with designing a new product. They roll up their sleeves and present their finished design, and then the company’s sales team must put the product on the market. But one Houston-based manufacturer of car wash equipment had a better idea. With a spark of the same entrepreneurial spirit that helped start the company in 1966, the Jim Coleman Company devised a new product development process when it sought to enter the touchless automatic car wash industry in 1999.
